‘Extrait – Tôle, Choc’, Kevin Rouillard

In 2017, artist Kevin Rouillard moved into Adhex's premises to work on the project ‘Extrait - Tôle, Choc’ (Extract - Sheet Metal, Shock). The residency resulted in an on-site presentation and the publication of a booklet about the project, followed by an exhibition in New York. Some pieces were sold at FIAC (Foire Internationale d'Art Contemporain) and others are on display in Adhex's production workshops. Kevin Rouillard: ‘To send products to Cape Verde, expatriates fill cans because cargo transport is inexpensive,’ he explains. ‘Once there, these cans become doors, stoves, brooms, houses. I decided to transform them into turtle shields, used in Roman soldier formations as a collective shell.’
