The Horizon of Events, Vincent Carlier

In 2016, Adhex welcomed artist Vincent Carlier to create the work ‘l’horizon des événements’ (the event horizon). Vincent Carlier: "This is the name given to the boundary of a black hole, beyond which light is completely absorbed by its gravitational force. Beyond the event horizon, nothing can escape from the black hole, not even light. The black hole thus generates its own invisibility; it is impossible to observe what it is. The event horizon is therefore a story of the boundary towards the invisible, towards the unknown. It is also in this zone that a distortion of space-time occurs, far beyond our understanding, activating our imagination."
