‘Point de vue ascendant’ in situ work, Daniel Buren

A temporary work by Daniel Buren in Dijon!

Adhex supported the production of Daniel Buren's work ‘point de vue ascendant, travail in situ’ (ascending viewpoint, work in situ), a public artwork created by the artist in the heart of Dijon, in the garden of the Hôtel de la Thoison, the Burgundy headquarters of the Banque de France.
This outdoor project was produced by the Interface association, which receives regular support from Adhex, in partnership with the Banque de France and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region, the Côte-d'Or Departmental Council and the city of Dijon.
‘Point de vue ascendant, travail in situ’ follows the viewer's gaze from Rue des Godrans, continuing the typical Burgundian motif found on glazed tiles.
The structure extends over 35 metres, sloping in line with the roof of the 17th-century Hôtel de la Thoison.
The original pattern of interlocking diamonds combines with Daniel Buren's vocabulary of alternating stripes and flat areas of colour to create a new harmony.
