The missing Thing, Elodie Seguin

Elodie Seguin joins forces with Adhex engineers to produce a work exploring the concepts of seriality and transparency.

For her residency at Adhex, artist Elodie Seguin chose to work with thermoforming technology, usually used by Adhex engineers to create automotive parts.
Using transparent plastic materials, Elodie Seguin created a series of original pieces on the borderline between sculpture and painting, exploring notions of light, volume, transparency, seriality and combinations.
The works were exhibited at the artist's solo show at the Galerie Jocelyn Wolff (Romainville, 93) and then at the Galerie Interface flat in Dijon.
The residency was supported by the Ministère de la Culture - DRAC Bourgogne Franche-Comté as part of the "Art et mondes du travail" programme. Adhex worked with C2Pack (Sébastien Moyemont) to produce the pieces.

The Missing Thing
Before there was the thing, there was no thing
or
What we choose not to do
or
The buried stages of construction that we can no longer see
or
What we remove
or
All the non-physical, non-material components of the work
or
The ellipses between exhibitions and how what comes before and what comes after constructs the piece
or
The piece that is missing to clarify the previous ones
or
When words are missing
And the production
the content
the technique
the potential
repetition
idleness
transparency
the market
order
disorder
randomness
the invisible film that constrains
position
time
unity
fragmented man
